A brief overview of the work

Our Nandkishore Sanskar Kendra has been working continuously for imparting Values and culture in receptive generation the last 28 years.

This young generation has easy access to mobiles, television and internet and it’s very easy to get influenced by western culture. It was persistent longing of “Sadguru Chaitanyaswarup” and Lakshmiswarup Sau.Aai to do something for children to carry further legacy of ancient wisdom. The feeling was that we should do something for the little ones. With the support of “Sadguru Anna”, Aai took the initiative and started the Sanskar class on 14 January 1993 at the Govindananda Shriram Temple with only 4-5 children on Makar Sankranti. Through this Sanskar class, they imparted knowledge and wisdom to parents and children. Parents liked it so much that many children started gathering and to help this initiative many women from our Shriram Mandir started helping Aai to conduct different activities. Considering the growing number of children, many branches were set up in different places and from there on the "Nandkishore Sanskar Kendra" was "registered" later.Every branch of Sanskar Kendra was allocated a teacher whom we fondly call ‘Mavshi’. Now why we call her Mavshi? Because we have Madam or Teacher in school, so next close relation (with children) is of aunt (Mavshi) and we asked them to call so. This small thing itself helped in imparting cultural values.

A number of initiatives were decided for the holistic development of the children, i.e., for the intellectual, educational and artistic development.

Initially, it was decided to take three “Sanskar class” in a week with stipulated day and time. These sessions included small verses, hymns, songs, stories, ranging from "Karagre Vaste Lakshmi" to Ramraksha, Shree Ganpati Atharvashirsha, and all the known hymns.

In addition to all this, Annual Cultural Gatherings, projects and exhibitions were held for children to showcase their talent. We also used to publish annual journal written by our little ones based on special informative theme and we have had guidance of many dignitaries.

  • These annual gatherings and occasions were graced by Karveer Peethadhish Jagadguru Shrimad Shankaracharya, Natshreshtha Padma Shri Daji Bhataw;adekar, Shivshahir Shri. Babasaheb Purandare, Shrikant Moghe, Mrs. Mrinal Dev- Kulkarni, Sanjay Upadhye, Mrs. Seema Dev, Shri. Praveen Davane, Shri. Swapnil Joshi and many such celebrities who indeed appreciated efforts and talents of our little ones.
  • As part of educational trip, the children were taken to various places like Modern Bakery, Aarey Colony, National Park, “Kutir Udyog” at Tara.
  • Tree plantation drive was organised to show the importance of the environment. Special sports workshops, drawing workshops were conducted for the children. Anil Avchat conducted ‘Origami Workshop’ to help create leaves, flowers from paper. Special program "Bolakya Bahulya" was organized by Shri. Ramdas Padhye and Mrs. Aparna Padhye performed for Nandkishore. A different initiative named ‘Thakicha Sansar’ (Family of Small girl) was organised in the form of Bhatukli.
  • Little ones have been blessed with guidance of Chaitanyaswarup Anna form spiritual realm, councillor Sayali Lakhdhir and Mr.Vidyadhar Karandikar .
  • Many competitions like hymns, verses, recitation competitions, memory competitions, storytelling competitions, painting and colouring competitions, oratory competitions were conducted for intellectual development of our little ones. It is worth mentioning that the inter-school "Coloring", "Painting" and "Handwriting Competition" involves schools from all over Dombivli. Experts award successful students with trophies.
  • Simple yoga and small exercises were taught for children.

Along with all these, some small festivals were celebrated in the class to create awareness about the national and traditional festivals. Activities like Rakhi Pournima, Dahihandi, Shravan Friday, Nagpanchami, Diwali camp, fort construction, sky lanterns, decorations were celebrated.

To help little ones with clear pronunciation of verses, our Mavshi’s are continuously striving and in turn Mavshi’s are trained with different workshops to enhance their skills.

From these different , Sadguru Anna and Aai provided guidance, but many other experts also provided guidance from time to time, such as "Dietitian - Malati Karwarkar", "Craft" (Handicraft) - Madhuri Ghate and Welankar ", Prof. Surendra Bajpayee, Dr. Srirang Joshi, Mr. Chandrakant Joshi, Mr. Rajiv Tambe, Madhavi Gharpure.

Everyone(Mavshi’s) was benefitted from these workshops and thereby our little ones received comprehensive guidance.Enroll your child in this multifaceted organization for emotional wellbeing in this turbulent time
